June 14, 2019 – Wenatchee, WA: The Numerica Performing Arts Center has hired ROBERT COX, a Senior Operational Manager with a background in Arts Administration and Theatre Education, to lead the Numerica PAC as the new Executive Director. Cox will begin his new role starting July 1, 2019.
Robert has been a resident of Wenatchee since 2017, when he arrived to manage the operations of the critical environment teams at Microsoft’s Data Centers in Quincy. Prior to that, he was Regional Manager for CBRE at Amazon’s fulfillment centers in the northeast region. In New York City, he applied his operations expertise at the headquarters of Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Smith Barney, and Merrill Lynch.
Cox also has a strong background in performing arts, with an MFA in Directing from the Mason Gross School of the Arts Conservatory program at Rutgers University. For the last decade, Robert has served as Artistic Director for 12 Miles West Theatre Company, an award-winning, professional equity theatre in the NYC Metropolitan area. He has also taught theatre arts at a number of colleges and universities and, as Company Manager, was instrumental in building a regional theatre at Brandeis University, outside Boston.
“As a resident of Wenatchee, I have enjoyed several productions at the Numerica PAC and have a strong understanding of the importance of this organization within the community and of its place in the economic health of the downtown area,” says Robert. “I am excited to partner with the board of directors as we seek to make the Numerica Performing Arts Center a vibrant, transformative theater where all our communities feel welcomed, engaged, entertained, and inspired.”
Robert will be filling the position after former Executive Director Matt Cadman announced his retirement, effective March 15, 2019. The Numerica PAC board underwent a thorough public search to fill the position.
Incoming Board President, Denise Books, says “We were fortunate to receive applications from an incredibly strong applicant pool, from all over the country. Then we received Robert’s application and his address said Wenatchee! Someone in our own community with all of the exact experience and skills we were looking for. Robert brings a unique blend of both business and theater experience. His enthusiasm for and experience in the arts, combined with the business acumen to efficiently manage operations will take our organization to the next level. The board and staff look forward to working together with Robert to achieve even greater success. The future of the Numerica Performing Arts Center is bright!”
