The Numerica Performing Arts Center kicks off the New Year with two great shows: THE SIGNATURE PROJECT on January 16, followed by VILLALOBOS BROTHERS on January 17.
The Signature Project
New to the Numerica PAC lineup is The Signature Project, January 16 at 6:30pm, sponsored by Wenatchee Art Education Consortium and Washington Arts. It is a multi-faceted project, but at its core is a huge 76 ft x 36 ft mural layered with hidden secrets. This live performance brings the mural to life, with artist Patrick Dunning weaving stories and images in the great tradition of Irish artists. In 1992, Dunning left his career as a well-respected young Irish painter to pursue a single painting made up of over 1 million signatures of people from across the globe. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and the audience will have the opportunity to add their autograph to the project.
Villalobos Brothers
The Villalobos Brothers (Ernesto, Alberto, and Luis) have been acclaimed as one of today’s leading contemporary Mexican ensembles. Live on the Numerica PAC stage January 17 at 7:30pm, the brothers’ original compositions and arrangements masterfully blend and celebrate the richness of Mexican folk music with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music. They were the first Mexican band ever to play at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC, as featured guest artists, adding this historic venue to an already impressive list of credits that includes the Latin Grammy Awards, Carnegie Hall, the Guggenheim Museum, Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations, Rockefeller Center, the New York Mets field at Shea Stadium, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Ford Theatres in Hollywood, and Teatro Amadeo Roldán in Havana. Tickets to see The Villalobos Brothers live in downtown Wenatchee are $17-$21. This show is sponsored by Cashmere Valley Bank and Rufus Woods, with support by the Numerica PAC Latino Council, Northwest Mariachi Festival, and media sponsor 103.9 KW3.
