BLACK BOX COMEDY SERIES

FEATURING

Zach Zimmerman

*INTENDED FOR A MATURE AUDIENCE*

AS SEEN ON

Zach Zimmerman is a stand-up comedian, writer, and host who creates queer, anti-capitalist stories that delight and devastate.
Born in Southern Virginia, Zach was the first in the family to go to college where Zach studied religion and theatre at Princeton University. After graduation, Zach moved to Chicago where Zach performed improv and sketch comedy with The Second City Theatricals, iO Theatre, and Annoyance Theatre. Since relocating to Brooklyn, Zach has become an international headlining stand-up comedian, and a regular performer in Manhattan clubs like the world-famous Comedy Cellar and alternative Brooklyn venues as well.

As a writer, Zach’s essays and humor pieces have been published in The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Popula, Vulture, and The Washington Post. Zach’s debut book Is It Hot in Here? (Or Am I Suffering for All Eternity for the Sins I Committed on Earth), which chronicles Zach’s journey from straight, meat-eating, Southern Baptist to queer, vegetarian, atheist socialist, was optioned in 2023 for TV and film by Sony Pictures. Zach also has a blind script deal with Sony in addition to the book option adaptation.

As a stand-up, Zach’s first comedy album “Clean Comedy,” debuted on the Billboard Top 10 and inspired a critically-acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and New York Comedy Festival. Zach's viral TikTok and Instagram clips have garnered acclaim as a USA Today Comedian to Watch and coverage in Out. Zach was also named a TimeOut NY Comic to Watch, appeared in Grindr’s first stand-up digital special, and recently made his late-night debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

As a host, Zach has collaborated on projects with New York Magazine, The Cut, Scruff, Grindr, and HBO Max Human By Orientation. Zach is also a co-host of the live show Pretty Major produced by Vulture and Union Hall.

Zach is a podcast favorite, having appeared on: Savage Lovecast, Bad Dates with Jameela Jamil, Funny cuz it’s True with Elyse Myers, Lovett or Leavitt, Sandyland, Into It with Sam Sanders, Depresh Mode, And Here’s Modi, I Weigh with Jameela Jamil, and more.
